SUMMARY :/h2:
Supports all aspects of Environmental compliance for the facility. Provides leadership to plant team members to ensure operations are in compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations including permits and corporate policies. Works closely with all other plant functions to address Management of Change issues on all plant related projects to ensure that impacts on the environment are minimized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
:Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local environmental regulations and ConAgra corporate environmental policies.
:Perform all activities associated with Storm Water compliance.
:Manage all waste disposal activities, including hazardous waste management and disposal. Assess all waste suppliers at least once every three years for compliance with their permits.
:Lead sustainable development activities at the facilities, including reduction in utility, energy and material consumption and corporate citizenship efforts.
:Implement ConAgra Foods Environmental Management System including periodic self:assessment of Environmental Compliance.
:Develop and implement training to ensure education of all plant team members on appropriate environmental issues.
:Serve on the facility emergency response team to oversee environmental activities.
:Serve as liaison with community and local and state agencies.
:Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the plant and corporate organization.
:Manage all PSM activities.
:Participate in CPS activities for the EHS pillar.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
:Manages the contracted groups from an environmental aspect.
:In case of an absence of the Safety Manager, it is the responsibility of the Safety Specialist to make sure his/her tasks are covered.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:/h4:Minimum::/h4:
:Bachelor degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
:Competency in using Microsoft office and other computer software.
Preferred:
Food industry experience :/h4:
:Manufacturing environment in a safety capacity for 5:7 years
:OSHA Certifications
Experience with agricultural land application of wastewater and solids preferred
